Hello all! Resurfacing from the two days of vid immersion that was vidukon to see how everyone is doing with their multivid adventures? If you're anything like me, you started with dreams of using five or more sources, and then before too long made peace with a concept that only uses two...

Or maybe you're using dozens!

If you've dug in beyond choosing your sources, what challenges have you faced so far? Tech issues like aspect ratio? Conceptual issues?

How are you approaching connecting your sources? And have there been unexpected pleasures along the way?

Looking forward to seeing the multivids come in over the next week plus!

I am currently crying in aspect ratio. (My sources are all over the place and even after the excellent Vidukon panel on these things I'm still all "???" about how to make it work.)

I've got two movies and two TV shows and they're from three different decades and it's a mess. XD

But I'm currently experimenting with running them through HandBrake to fix things like mis-matched frame rates and sizes, and I think it's working...? I vid in Adobe Premiere, and my test clips worked much better together after HandBrake than before! So I just need more time to fiddle with settings I think.

(Oh yeah, and I'm totally cheating on Guardian again because I had an idea for something else and I feel the source rule is a good one to break when inspiration strikes!)

I have found [livejournal.com profile] jarrow's worksheets from his 2011 Vividcon presentation on aspect ratios to be invaluable references: https://vividcon.livejournal.com/272274.html
