Vfxercise 3 drops

Hi all! For our 3rd Vfxercise, let's play around with animated text. Make a 20-30 second edit, incorporating animated text in some way, with whatever vfx tool you choose. Looking forward to seeing what ppl create!

Whew, I finished this one. I made a wide screen version too but I don't think I like it as much as the square version I made for tiktok.

I like how the handwriting-esque font, the dreamy song, and the handheld camera all combine to make a very definite vibe! I think I share your preference for the square version – somehow the horizontal confinement of the text and protagonists fits the vid better.

So pretty! I also like the square version more. It feels even more intimate. The text writing itself across and the zoom out works so well, too.

And Yet I'm Not Afraid. I used screencaps instead of video for ease of layer masking and so that the main attraction would be the text. I looked up typewriter effects for Blender, but the add-on that does that hasn't been updated for years, so I just used text moving in various directions, zooming in and out variously, and some judicious font/color choices. Again, I'm using Star Wars: the Old Republic, Jedi Consular story. Music is Indica - Niin tuleni teen, and the translation is all mine.

Oh wow, all the text effects look like they took a lot of planning. And it's really cool that you have the words drop in according to the translation.

I confess that other than the word order and some idea of which direction they should go, I just decided to add MOAR effects to go with the vfx-y theme of the vfxercises. :P I'm glad you enjoyed the drop order!
