Vexercise 7 Drops! Multivid Extravaganza

Hi everyone!

Wow, here it is in June and we're on to the 7th vexercise, Advanced Round: Multivids!

I'm so thrilled and excited to see all the amazing vids that have come out of these vexercises! After this one, there's only one more, the free vid (eeh!)

But we're not there yet. For this vexercise, the guidelines are as follows:

7) Advanced round // multivid:

In a one minute video, put your media source choice in conversation with other media using match on action, graphic matching, audio layering, and lyrical play.

One of my favorite multivids of all time is Data's Dream, but there are so many wonderful ones! Please rec your favorite multivids in the comments!

As always, this vexercise will be "Due" in two weeks, on Saturday June13, with a check in midway. In the meantime ask any and all questions that you have about the Vexercise here.

Death and the Maiden by bironic has always been one of my favorites. The Greatest, another favorite by bironic was nominated for a Webby this year.

A technical question: how many sources must one include to be classified as a multivid? Two? Three? Five? Twenty?

I'm only including one other source, but it's still a multi-fandom vid because it's got two sources, in my way of thinking!

I think that especially given the time frame for these exercises, two is fine! I'm decoding between a couple of ideas myself, and one of them is two sources as well.

Multivids are great, but they do take a lot of thought. It looks like work may pick up very soon (I do freelance historical research and some archival research rooms are opening up again) so if I don’t get a chance to finish this exercise I just wanted to share Everything Stops for Tea , a multifandom vid that I worked on for months in 2016-2017, slowly gathering relevant sources.

I chose Selfie as my source to combine with Galileo to say something about the relationships of Eliza Dooley/Henry Higgs and Utsumi Kaoru/Yukawa Manabu. You can find it on AO3: "How to be a Heartbreaker". It contains stuttery cuts.

Admittedly, it uses less source all up than my other vexercises did! The connection between the three MVs is that they are all on the list for the 'k-pop art appreciation' vid I will probably never make; also ATEEZ have covered both the other songs I used.

Um, taking the instructions as suggestions rather than requirements.

Woohoo! Posting and it's not like, midnight! I went through several concepts before I landed on this one, and even this was harder than I expected. Multivids are hard!! Especially ones that aren't primarily meta.... Bonibaru said this was sort of more like an AU too, and I guess that's true and maybe part of why it was so challenging! That and the sources didn't match in reality the way they matched in my head, so I had to get creative :)

ok here i go with my entry for this challenge! (better late than never amirite (´∀｀；) im super busy with uni atm so i made this rly quickly today if im being honest, but i think for that it turned out ok)
