Hi all! For our 3rd Vfxercise, let's play around with animated text. Make a 20-30 second edit, incorporating animated text in some way, with whatever vfx tool you choose. Looking forward to seeing what ppl create!

• Steven Universe MV, OK (Pearl Tribute) [I absolutely love how this one uses text expressively, graphically, with limited animation but one hell of a punch)
• Emotions (portrayed by Wei Wuxian) this one doesn't really have animated text really but omg I love it so much so I'm just including it because I can

Oh, and while we're on the topic of text, if someone is in need of some nice Chinese fonts, Hanyi Senty has you covered! A whole slew of nice brushwork & handwriting -type fonts free to download.

Whew, I finished this one. I made a wide screen version too but I don't think I like it as much as the square version I made for tiktok.

And Yet I'm Not Afraid. I used screencaps instead of video for ease of layer masking and so that the main attraction would be the text. I looked up typewriter effects for Blender, but the add-on that does that hasn't been updated for years, so I just used text moving in various directions, zooming in and out variously, and some judicious font/color choices. Again, I'm using Star Wars: the Old Republic, Jedi Consular story. Music is Indica - Niin tuleni teen, and the translation is all mine.
